Stopped into Lilac Chocolates and had a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in. Ebony, the manager, was excellent. She took the time to walk us through the selection, answered every question with real knowledge and patience, and never made us feel rushed. I’m from Brooklyn and had family visiting from Barbados, and Ebony made all of us feel completely at home. That kind of genuine hospitality is rare and it turned a quick stop into the highlight of our afternoon. The chocolates were beautiful too, but the service is what we’ll remember. Thank you, Ebony. We’ll be back.

Came to this branch in Hudson Yards. What I thought was going to be a small errand of two truffles turned into buying a small box for myself. Denise was lovely- she expertly recommended truffles and sweets to try (including a sublime butter crunch). When she heard it was my birthday, I even got a candle in a French cream truffle and orchestrated singing. As first visits go, thank you Denise for making this birthday feel celebratory and wow! Highly recommend seeing her in Hudson Yards for expert chocolate consultation!

I hoofed it out to the Hudson Yards to buy some Li-Lac Chocolates as a gift and the Manager Ebony made my day. Her genuine, generous spirit was so lovely and the way the staff interacted with each other was really nice to see. It was this kind of customer service that made me return to buy more chocolates. These chocolates were delicious; top quality service and product.

The quality is exceptional — pure ingredients with no artificial ingredients or preservatives, generous portions, and an amazing variety of creative flavors. Ebony, the absolutely delightful store manager at the Hudson Yards location, went above and beyond to make our visit unforgettable. She took us on an incredible chocolate journey, sharing her expertise, the company’s fascinating history, and generous samples until we found our favorite flavors. Her joy and enthusiasm were contagious! Our top picks were the Hazelnut Truffle Squares, Coconut Bars, Glacé Orange Peels, Peanut Butter & Jelly Bars, and Butter Crunch. LOVE the company’s history — Manhattan’s oldest chocolate house, founded in 1923 — and how every item is handcrafted locally in NYC in small batches, with many recipes dating back to the 1920s. It’s rare to find a company so committed to quality, tradition, and ingredients you can truly feel good about. This is so much more than a chocolate shop— it’s a New York institution and an experience! We can’t wait to come back and work our way through more of their incredible chocolates!

I went to visit Edge, and on my way out I came across this place. I was in the mood for something sweet and wanted to try it. I was helped by a woman who was incredibly kind—pleasant, friendly—and honestly, I ended up buying because of her. She even appears in one of the photos with customers. They had so much variety that I wanted to try everything. The peanut butter ones were my favorites. The others I tried were also really good, with high-quality chocolate. I liked all of them. I definitely recommend it—I would go back for sure!
